As a result of the highly successful program called "Confirmation Reboot" held in the Eastern part of our deanery in 2014, a committee with members from several churches was formed to foster opportunities for Christian education for adults in our deanery. Committee members include The Rev. Lesley Barclay, Ellen Goodeve, Suzanne Lawson, Sharon O'Connor (chairperson), The Rev. Canon Susan Sheen, Shane Watson, Marion Huffman, Pat Eberle and Rhonda Cross.
The committee is once again sponsoring several cornerstone events in the coming year, including:
|-||four Adult Educaton courses|
|-||an Advent conference (November-2015)|
|-||a series on the Eucharist with Bishop Linda Nichols (January-2016)|
|-||Trent-Durham Area Day (March-2016)|
|-||a Lenten Day (March-2016)|
|-||a workshop on the implications of the Residential Schools Truth & Reconciliation Committee Report (Spring, 2016)|
|-||a new Education for Ministry (EfM) adult learning program (Fall, 2016)|
These programs are open to everyone in the deanery and we encourage you to consider them - we feel they are very worthwhile opportunities. Please take a few moments to review and prayerfully consider the opportunities that are available to you. They will surely enliven your perspective on our Christian beliefs.

Living the Questions:
Who is Jesus for the 21st Century?
Six sessions will be presented on Thursday afternoons from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, beginning February 11, 2016, by Sharon O'Connor and Patricia Eberle.
The first three sessions (Feb 11, 18, 25) will be held at St. George's, Grafton, and the second three sessions (Mar 03, 10, 17) will be held at St. Mark's, Port Hope.
A new group is planned for the West Northumberland area starting in September, 2016.
Education for Ministry ("EfM", website www.efmcanada.ca) is a 4-year adult learning program consisting of personal reading and reflection, combined with a weekly small-group discussion seminar.
Each of the four years consists of 36 weekly meetings, each year with different assigned readings and focus; however participants commit to only one year at a time.
Participants will deepen their faith, enlarge their knowledge of the Bible and church history, and discern how to apply their new insights in their personal lay ministry using a process of theological reflection.
