St. Peter’s Friends:

There are two interesting courses being offered this spring by the Durham- Northumberland Deanery Adult Christian Education Team that you might want to consider. Registration is limited in each, so register early. There is no cost. Zoom is being used to make it accessible. These courses are a good way to keep our minds focused on our spiritual life and many of the sources of our inspiration and wisdom.

The Dream of God, by Verna J. Dozier

Five Friday Mornings from

May 27th to June 24th Time: 10:30 am to Noon

Five Tuesday Evenings from 

May 24th to June 21st Time: 7:00 to 8:30 pm 

(Facilitator:  Val Whalley)

Dozier claims that the dream of God is to have us follow Jesus, not merely to worship him.  It’s a tough job!  Reading important books together and learning from each other has proven to be very helpful for those of us trying to do our best to follow Jesus in this turbulent time.  Marcus Borg called this book “a small masterpiece”.  Join other searching folk in a facilitated discussion of this gem of a book, dealing with just one chapter each week.  Let’s see what this “contemporary prophet” has in store for us to consider.
