The Prayer Shawl Ministry mission is to knit/crochet lovingly-crafted shawls which are then blessed and presented to the sick, elderly, bereaved and newly baptized.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry has been active for over ten years. In that time we have produced over a thousand shawls. Last year alone, about eighteen knitters made 85 shawls. Being part of this ministry helps participants to feel useful, productive and valued.
We also make mittens for our pre-schoolers every year and have expanded that project to making hats, mittens, scarves, etc. which are donated to local charities.
Most of the yarn is donated but we do have a small budget under the Health and Healing umbrella. If you would like to participate in the Prayer Shawl Ministry please contact coordinators Janet Baillie or June Tink.
